EXPERIENCE

FRIDA&FRANK, co-founder (designer). Vancouver, BC (May 2017-2019) 

Ø Oversaw and organized community events, social media, applied for permits, & coordinated with municipal organizations. Held over 50 activations in public spaces around the city.  

Ø Designed, prototyped, & fabricated ping-pong tables using CNC machinery.                 

Ø Provided engagement reports for stewardship projects & public activations. 

Projects: 

Pop-Up Ping-Pong. Modular, mobile ping-pong tables used to facilitate engagement. Youth HUB public space group facilitator. with CityHive Vancouver

Pop! A rainy day refuge An inflatable “bubble” that created a container for discussion around Vancouver’s public realm. 

Stewardship at Vernon/Adanac Plaza. Events, planting, ping-pong, & mosaics. 

Winteraction Campaign. Created a grant to invite other creatives and doers to activate public spaces throughout the city of Vancouver. 

Jianzi Jam. Shaping the Courtyard with games and making jainzi’s at the Vancouver Chinese Garden

P(art)ticipartion. Created mosaics, drawings, collages, and connected with residents at Chartrand Place Modular Housing (transitional housing) with PHS. 

MAKERLABS. Vancouver, BC (2018-2019) 

Ø CNC Educator. Taught classes for both the Tools for Women residency and for members, educated participants on CNC software, file preparation, safety, and fabrication.

Ø Steward and community member. Worked at the front desk, coordinated with members, answered phone calls and emails. Organized two events for Culture Crawl, an annual arts festival, with +200 attendees. 

Ø Contract fabricator. Helped complete fabrication projects, laser cutting, assembly and some design work. 

YARD FUTURES. Los Angeles, CA (April 2018)

Ø Biodiversity Field Researcher. Collected data in the Santa Monica Mountains and in residential areas of LA for a nation-wide study on yard management and native species. 

CITY FARMER, Compost Demonstration Garden. Vancouver, BC (Fall 2018-June 2019) 

Ø Worm Bin Educator. Taught kids ages 3-12 the ins and outs of worm composting, worm physiology, symbiotic relationships, and food waste. 

Ø Gardener. Engaged with the public, gave tours of the garden, answered phone questions.
